dogs

This is a woodworkers holddown. I made 4 of these for a friend and he tells me they work "GREAT!" One tap on the top of the bend and your board is held tight to the bench. One tap on the back of the bend and they are loose.

The Closer

video

This is a quick video of the self closing gate i made. Gate is Douglas fir. It has 12 mortices, 12 tenons, and 4 pegs. The hardware consists of 4 pinless pintles and one long pin to go through, a ring and a hoop for it to ride on , a springlatch and its keeper, and some screws. What a wonderful project!

Wise Guy

Historically tongs like these were used to pull hot embers out of the fireplace and gentleman would light their pipes with the ember. Currently these tongs sit in my basement and rust!
