an old smith once told me to put my anvil on an angle so the scale falls off...he also told me to tap the hot metal and beat the fire.

junkyard hammer
Erich did all the welding! thanks mr estes! i stole these plans from da infanet. It was alot of scrounging and cutting/drilling. I call it Chomp. 277 hits per minute
Holy cow I am very impressed with your work! I am starting to get into this and was looking for a cheap design for a junk yard hammer. Would you mind sharing the plans? I cannot seem to find any plans like this one and I am liking it.
